Call to Artists - Mixed (e)Motions
Art Unbound by Media
Event and Venue: "Mixed (e)Motions" at A/NT Gallery (formerly "Art/Not Terminal Gallery") in Seattle, WA.

Entry Requirements:Mixed media and multimedia only. Mixed media is defined as the mixing of two or more artistic media, e.g. acrylic and collage, graphite and encaustic, ceramic and wool, etc. Multimedia art incorporates nonvisual elements, such as audio or tactile elements. Only original art allowed. Prints and reproductions are allowed if they are incorporated with other media, such as a giclee with acrylic painted over it, or a photograph used in a collage.

Timeline of Exhibit: July 2 - July 27, 2014
Entries Due: May 31, 2014
(Please note: The deadline is in Mountain time, so the precise deadline in Seattle time is 10:59 PM on May 31.)
Submission Fee: $25 per artist, up to 3 pieces per entry.
Jury/Judges: Our jury and judges are TBD (they will be local artists, curators, or gallery owners knowledgeable in mixed media and multimedia). Jurying will take place between June 1 and June 7, 2014. Prizes will be issued for the best works ($100 for First Place, $60 for Second, $40 for Third). Judging for prize money will take place on July 6 after receiving the physical entries.
Selection Process: Selection will be based on the quality of the work, including technical execution, composition, creativity, and how well the piece expresses the theme of the show. There will be a preference for different and imaginative media combinations, especially those incorporating 3D elements, but this is not required for acceptance.
Notification of Acceptance: A/NT Gallery will notify all artists no later than July 8, 2014.
Delivery: All selected artwork must be delivered to A/NT Gallery by June 30, 2014. If delivering in person, artwork should be dropped off on June 29 or June 30, between 11AM and 6PM.
If shipping artwork, all shipping costs and packaging will be the artist's responsibility. If shipping in glazed frames, plexiglass is highly recommended to reduce shipping weight and prevent broken glass. The artist will also be responsible for all return shipping costs. To avoid delays in returning shipped art, please ship all work with prepaid shipping labels or postage.
Display of Work: All artwork to be hung on the wall must have a hanging wire or other hardware appropriate to the work, such as hanging railings or secure hoops. Do not use sawtooth hangers or other hardware inappropriate to the size and weight of the work. If the gallery is unable to the hang the artwork as it's delivered to us, we will not display it until the artist fixes the hanging hardware.
For 3D work, A/NT Gallery can provide white pedestals of varying sizes. The gallery is unable to provide shielded cases, projectors, televisions, stereos, or other devices for multimedia artwork.
All artwork will be hung by A/NT Gallery's curator and volunteers, except for installation works. If such works are accepted, the gallery will inform the artist what additional requirements will be needed to setup their work. Though the gallery will take great care in handling all artwork, the gallery will not be responsible for damage done to the artwork during shipping, delivery, packing, and unpacking. The gallery will not be responsible for damage sustained to work due to inappropriate framing and/or poorly installed hanging hardware.
Artwork that is significantly different from the work submitted on callforentry.org will not be displayed in the exhibit.
Reception: The opening reception will be at the gallery on July 5, 2014, between 6PM and 9PM. An additional reception will take place on July 11, 2014, between 6PM and 9PM, during the Belltown Art Walk.
Exhibit or Event Ends: July 27, 2014
Pickup Artwork by: Artwork that won't be shipped must be picked up July 27, 2014. If that's not possible, the artist must contact the gallery to arrange pickup at another time.
Return Shipping: For shipped art, the artist will be responsible for all return shipping costs. The artist will need to pay for shipping costs before the gallery will ship the work. To avoid delays in returning shipped art, please ship all work with prepaid shipping labels or postage.
Publicity: Local media will be notified of this event through press releases, newspaper ads, social media, and posters in local businesses. Participating artists will also be encouraged to invite friends and followers. The gallery will be providing wine, refreshments, and entertainment for this event.
Reproductions of the art will be used in publicity only with the permission of the artists, as expressed in their consignment contract.
