Only One Artwork Per Person for May/June Show

NW Folklife is using more space this year. In the past, due to lease clause, Folklife used the entire gallery. In 2022 they started sharing space.

In 2025 and 2026, member space will be even more limited. Remember, on the weekend of Folklife there will be more visitors than we get in several months.

GALLERY MEMBERSHIP

A/NT Gallery is an artist cooperative. There are no membership dues. You become a member when you show your work and an Active Member when you volunteer seven hours as a Gallery Greeter. Active Members pay a suggested $15/piece donation. (If you can, please pay more to help members who cannot afford $15.) Inactive Members pay fees shown in the third column of this chart.

To qualify as an Active Member, click here to schedule your seven hours of volunteer time. You may volunteer a full-shift, 11 am to 6pm or two half-shifts, 11 am to 2:30 pm or 2:30 to 6 pm.

See this resource for more details on being a Greeter: Volunteer Training Video.

If you are a new member, sign and return this form, Terms and Conditions to Michelle Ishimitsu.

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK

When to deliver your art to the gallery:

  • Saturday 10am-2pm WITH CAR ACCESS

  • Sunday 10am-2pm NO CAR ACCESS

  • We recommend that artists with smaller pieces come on the no-car day.

  • Refer to the A/NT Gallery Calendar for current pickup/drop-off times and dates.

Hanging donations or fees:
Donations or fees are taken when art is dropped off at the gallery. See more under GALLERY MEMBERSHIP below.

Prints:
Without additional fees, you may display up to three prints per artwork registered and displayed, with a limit of nine per show. Bring your prints when you drop off your artwork. Important details.

Images under glass or on reflective surface:
Please send digital images of your unframed artwork without glass or plastic covering, as well as art on any reflective surface (e.g., aluminum) to Bob Hutchinson. This ensures your art will be well-presented on our website. See more here.

NEW 2024 HANGING POLICY CHANGES

Re-registration and re-showing of art:
The Board adopted a policy allowing art to be shown for no more than two consecutive months. Any artwork shown for two consecutive months must be removed before the next month.

Late art submissions:
The Board adopted a policy that art must be delivered by the end of the final pickup/drop-off day. No art delivered after the final pickup/drop-off day and time will be displayed.

Limit on member art:
The Board adopted a policy that in order to maintain access to all artists at our low suggested $15/piece donation, the amount of art shown by each member per month is limited to 120 total inches (ten feet), measured as follows:

  • Work hung on walls - horizontal width including mat and frame.

  • 3-D art - the greater of the longest dimension of the art or pedestal.

  • These measures count towards the 120 inches regardless of whether a 3-D artwork is placed below 2-D art or if 2-D artworks are hung salon-style.

Art left after shows:
The Board will enforce an existing policy on art left behind after pickup/drop-off. The day after the last pickup/drop-off day, the gallery will e-mail reminders to the owners of any art left behind.

After 15 days, the gallery will send certified letters to owners of any remaining art, notifying the owner that:

  • The artist will be charged $5 per day per piece until the art is picked up.

  • After 90 days, the artwork becomes property of the Gallery.
